Over the years, my team and I have had the pleasure to work with discerning couples from all over the world, locally from San Francisco and Napa Valley to luxurious over water villas in Thailand and on the shores of Lake Como. I pride myself on my warm and personable approach which ensures that every client feels at ease and cherished throughout. Being a first generation graduate and Asian immigrant, I am passionate about female empowerment, high-quality educational opportunities for children, and vocal empowerment in young girls. I devote a significant amount of time on non profit projects and charity.

My life and work are intertwined and is largely influenced by my love of nature, art, culture, travel, fashion and design. A typical Sunday would involve coffee from Blue Bottle, a drive in our Jeep and hike with our 7 year old son and two terrier/chihuahuas, shopping at an antique store or plant nursery, a great meal enjoyed alfresco and wine by the fire.

How did you become a wedding photographer?

I was photographing fashion and fine art landscapes, then an opportunity came up to photograph a wedding in Tuscany in 2013. It coincided with the excitement of my own wedding planning journey and I have been in love with it ever since.

What is your shooting style ?

Typically I will capture the day naturally as it unfolds without any re-enactments or dramatized scenes. For most of the day you will not notice I am there, however during portraits I will give gentle guidance of what is flattering and prompts to achieve beautiful effortless and timeless imagery. At all times I look for the best light and move around for the best angles. I guess this would be called fine art documentary wedding photography, however your wedding doesn’t need to fit in a box. Over the years I have found that you need to be prepared for anything at weddings. Sometimes I need to direct especially when it comes to the portraits or just to suggest a better angle or background or on the other hand I stay back and unobtrusively to capture the magic. It really just depends on the moment, and the couple of course.

Do you shoot film or digital-what camera do you use?

I utilize both film and digital photography. My go-to camera for weddings is the Canon R6, my favorite lens is the 50mm 1.2L. I also love medium format film cameras and 35mm film cameras. I am currently in love with my 1955 Leica M3.

How do you define your style?

A balance between fine art documentary and fashion editorial with fondness for symmetry, romance, and light that feels ethereal. I believe you really need to be versatile for weddings as it encompasses all types of photography from the details and moments to the dancefloor.

What is your education and training?

Over the years I have been taught by some of the world’s most esteemed photographers such as Joe McNally, Victor Lax, Huy Nguyen, and Fer Juaristi to name a few. I have attended photography workshops globally and now I offer photography mentorship and education hoping to inspire the next generation of creatives. For formal education, I studied cultural history and the Arts at the University of Edinburgh and University of California at Berkeley. I continue to rely on my academic training to respectfully learn about cultural traditions pertaining to each wedding.
